How to get to Kecskemét from Budapest


FROM THE AIRPORT

Coming by train is the easier way to get to Kecskemét from the Airport of Budapest. You can find information here: https://www.bud.hu/en/passengers/transport/public_transportation/trains

In case you are arriving to the airport you have to get on the bus number 200 E (this is the only bus there, it goes in every 10 minutes) and get off from the bus Ferihegy vasútállomás (Ferihegy Railway Station). That is the 4th stop.

You can buy bus ticket (350 HUF) at the airport at the post office (located on the mezzanine), at the newsagents Relay or at the vending machine by bank card or cash for 350 HUF. It is also possible to purchase a ticket from the bus driver for 450 HUF only in cash. The bus driver can not change you big banknotes. You can check the schedule here.

The Train Station is on the other side of the main road. You should cross the road on the bridge and come down at the last exit. That is the direction to Kecskemét. You can buy the train ticket to Kecskemét at the train station either at the cash desk or at a ticket-vending machine with bankcard or cash or in advance on internet. The train leaves at 13 past every hour (for example: 8.13, 9.13, 10.13.....). The price is: 1.830 HUF. It takes 57 minutes to arrive to Kecskemét. After your plane has landed from the airport to get to Ferihegy train station takes about 40-50 minutes.

 

FROM THE WESTERN (NYUGATI) RAILWAY STATION there are a number of trains every hour. The journey to Kecskemét takes approximately 80 minutes.
