BA STUDIES

Primary school teacher BA

The aim of this study programme is to train educational professionals who can undertake — on the basis of their knowledge acquired —the educational tasks for all content areas in grades 1–4, and for at least one content area in grades 1–6. Students in the programme will learn about the psychological specificities of the development of small children and children aged 6–12, in addition to teaching- and education theory. Our students will possess advanced communication skills, appropriate self-awareness, and an above-average sense of responsibility. Our graduates will be able to convey an environmentally conscious attitude, will possess a developed sensitivity to social problems and a tolerance for diversity, and are encouraged to set an example by leading a health-conscious lifestyle.

Kindergarten educator BA

Thanks to its thorough and integrated approach, the six-semester training of the bachelor’s programme in kindergarten education provides students with readily applicable knowledge in the field. During training, students will become acquainted with the specificities of the personal development of children aged 3-7, while also studying the theory and practice of children’s education and development. Moreover, our students can master the methodological techniques of linguistic, musical, environmental, motor, and visual education — as well as games — for kindergarten children.

Infant and early childhood education

The aim of this study programme is to train educational professionals who will be able to apply appropriate developmental and educational methods in the care and development of infants and children in need of care from birth up to three (or a maximum of five) years of age. In possessing a complex range of care, pedagogical, psychological, and health competencies, graduates will enhance the healthy development of bodily, emotional, relational, speech, and intellectual skills within the given age group. The taught socialisation of these skills lends added support to the educational efforts of families raising small children. Graduates will be able to carry out care-related, educational, intermediary, representational and counselling tasks as well.

Community organisation BA

 

This bachelor’s degree is a new and much-needed study programme in the domains of culture, general education, youth affairs, and adult education. The programme is especially recommended to those who are interested in facilitating the growth of community organisation and development, event organisation, cultural activities, youth communities and programmes, youth work, and training opportunities. It is ideal for those who enjoy working with people in a dynamic environment, have good communication skills, and are open to cooperating with others. Community organisation specialists perform tasks directly related to planning, organisation, assessment, management, children’s entertainment, and coordination in the domains of general education, youth work, and human development. They can work within settlements, institutions, organisations, and communities, as well as in the different venues of general education, youth services, and adult education.
